This presentation will discuss the external aspects (client-facing) of equity of your organization. To learn more about the internal equity of your team, be sure to check out Part 1 in our Digital Library. It will walk through some key areas of focus for organizations and assists you in evaluating where your organization is on their journey to becoming equitable and anti-racist. There is no time like the now to do our part and uphold our social responsibility in the world. This requires continually assessing of how our organizational practices contribute to systemic and structural inequities. 


About the presenter:
Krystal Ngene (pronounced n-ghen-nee) embraces her authenticity and life challenges to bring about learning opportunities and growth to serve as a catalyst for positive sustainable change.

Most recently she has served as an Executive Director for a local nonprofit and also managed the Bureau of Development Services’ recruitment and hiring program for over 350 employees at the City of Portland. Currently, she is a Community and Corporate Engagement Manager and also a consultant working with organizations to create sustainable change through EDI work.

Krystal has a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Portland State University, and a B.S. Ed. in Learning and Organizational Change from Northwestern University. Integrating her professional experience with both degrees allows Krystal to better understand organizational foundation and structure while also incorporating key practices to promote and facilitate social change, development, cohesion and empowerment. This provides her with an unique ability to best identify root causes of issues, as well as, design and implement programs, processes and procedures that allow for equitable and well-integrated outcomes for communities, employees, and organizations.

In her free time, Krystal enjoys spending time with her family, harvesting fruits and vegetables from the garden, and making healthy desserts. She loves sports, especially fútbol, and is a self-proclaimed “foodie”.
