Ann, Lori & Irshad share how each of their respective faith traditions inform donor giving: history, reasons for giving, etiquette, donor stewardship - what a fundraiser needs to know in interacting with faith-based donors. We leave lots of space for questions and we always have *lots* of questions. We know each other well and our interactions model respect, caring and curiosity.

Ann Rosenfield, MBA, CFRE is the Chief Development Officer for Temple Sinai Congregation of Toronto. Ann worked with leadership to quadruple unrestricted gifts during the coronavirus crisis and is in the midst of a security campaign for the congregation. Ann has been a speaker on philanthropy across Canada and internationally including a master class for the International Fundraising Conference in Amsterdam, AFP ICON, and several courses in San Francisco. Ann has been interviewed by the CBC, Toronto Star, Macleans, Associated Press and other media on the topic of fundraising and charity ethics.
Dr. Lori Guenther Reesor is a bridge builder; she explains fundraising to Christians and Christianity to fundraisers. She researched Christian giving in Canada for her doctorate. Stories inform her work. Her book, Growing a Generous Church: a Year in the Life of Peach Blossom Church may be the only theology book with an illustration of a man using a snowblower. Irshad Osman is a faith leader by training and a fundraiser by profession. As a fundraiser passionate about Inclusive Philanthropy, he has worked at local and international charities overseeing fundraising portfolios worth of Millions of dollars. He currently works as a Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts at the University of Toronto.
As a faith leader, Irshad volunteers his time with many Toronto-based organizations advocating for social justice, minority rights, anti-racism, anti-hate, and supports inter-faith collaboration to find solutions to common social issues faced by the community.
Irshad was the recipient of AFP’s "Fellowship in Inclusion & Philanthropy" in 2016, Interfaith America "Interfaith Innovation Fellow" in 2020, and KAICIID's "International Fellowship" in 2022. Recently he was selected to serve in the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Advancement Community Council at the University of Toronto. Last year, Irshad initiated the first-ever "Muslim-Indigenous Connection" program in Canada to train 25-35 Muslim youth to learn about the Indigenous Peoples, their spirituality, way of life and understand their past and present struggles due to settler-colonialism.
